How to Make Homemade Eczema Remedies

Eczema is a skin condition that affects thousands of people. It is best described as an inflammation of the epidermis, and lesions are most commonly seen on the elbows, hands and knees. Though these lesions sometimes do not scar, they are often very painful. If you are unable to find relief with the manufactured creams and lotions that are available, consider learning how to make homemade eczema remedies.

  1. First: Green tea

Green tea is an effective treatment for eczema. Since this treatment is completely natural, you do not have to worry about any side effects or allergic reactions. Brew a strong batch of tea, using one teabag per half cup of water, and allow it to steep for ten minutes. Add three tablespoons of lemon juice per cup of tea. Let this cool to room temperature, then soak a washcloth in the mixture and place it on the affected skin for about 5 minutes.

  2. Second: Oatmeal

An oatmeal bath is a classic treatment for irritated skin. Grind thee cups of oats until they are very fine. Sprinkle this into a bathtub while the warm water is still running, and soak in the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes. This soothes irritated skin of any sort, even if eczema is not the cause of the irritation.

  3. Third: Food and diet

Eating a portion of watercress each day often eases the symptoms of eczema. Combine this with a spoonful of parsley or wheat grass for a more dramatic effect. Also, consider eating a tablespoon of corn oil each morning at breakfast.
